About ConvertUno

ConvertUno is an independent project with one idea at its core: converting or compressing a file should not require handing that file to someone else's server.

How it works

Every tool on this site runs entirely in your browser. When you convert a video, compress an image, or extract audio, the processing happens on your own device using technologies built into modern browsers (WebCodecs and WebAssembly). Your file is never uploaded — there is no upload progress bar here because there is no upload.

This architecture has practical consequences we care about:

• Privacy by design. We cannot see, store, or share your files — they never reach us.
• Speed. No upload and download round-trip; large files start processing instantly.
• No gatekeeping. No account, no watermark, and no artificial file-size cap.

What we build

Today ConvertUno converts and compresses video (MP4, MOV, MKV, WebM, AVI and more), extracts and converts audio (MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG), and compresses or converts images (JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC) — in 11 languages. The toolset grows steadily; the browser-native principle does not change.
